An MBA You Can Apply in Real Time

The Evening & Weekend MBA at UC Berkeley Haas is designed for professionals who want to grow their leadership impact without stepping away from their careers.

Because you continue working while studying, the classroom becomes a place where real business challenges meet new ideas. You bring current situations from your work into class discussions, test new perspectives with peers and faculty, and apply what you learn immediately in your organization.

Over time, this feedback loop between work and learning builds the judgment, confidence, and perspective leaders need to guide organizations through change and move business forward.

Why Choose a Part-time MBA?

Schedule Options

You have a job. You have career aspirations. Our Evening & Weekend MBA Program positions you to excel in both arenas by making it possible to earn your MBA while you continue to grow at work; you can choose from three schedule options: on campus during evenings or weekends—or our flexible online option.

All entering students start the program together in late July or early August, when the entire class convenes for the required WE Launch orientation weekend. A glance at the annual academic calendar shows you how you can fit work and study together.

Flexibility

Choose your course schedule to strike a balance between your current career responsibilities and your career aspirations. While designed to be completed in 3 years, you can earn your MBA in 2 years, or up to 5 years, if you need more time. You also are able to switch between evening, weekend and online after completing your third semester to take electives in another schedule option. Our program office team works with you to design the course of study that works best for you.

A Learning Community

From orientation to graduation, your class forges its own identity. In your first year you are part of a cohort of approximately 70 students. In addition to taking core courses together, your cohort connects you with others and with the program office, student government, and faculty.

Because UC Berkeley Haas faculty emphasize teamwork and collaboration, you are part of a study team of five or so students. Each team is selected to include diverse professional experiences to ensure you learn from and with people with different perspectives and skills.

You also can lean into the benefits of being on the Haas and UC Berkeley campus: speaker series, research centers, extracurricular activities, athletic events, and more.

A part-time MBA program was perfect for me. It allowed me to bridge the gap between the academic world and the real world by applying and adapting what I learned in the classroom to the workplace. That was what made the lessons real for me, and it’s how I learn best."

Learn From Real Business Challenges

In every class, students bring real situations from their organizations into the conversation. Instead of case studies alone, discussions often center on current decisions, challenges, and opportunities happening across industries.

You’ll learn alongside accomplished professionals working in technology, finance, healthcare, consulting, and many other fields. This diversity of perspectives creates a learning environment grounded in real business experience.

Together, classmates challenge assumptions, share insights, and help each other develop better approaches to complex problems.

Apply New Ideas at Work Immediately

Because you continue working while pursuing your MBA, the ideas you explore in class can influence your work right away.

Students regularly test frameworks, strategies, and leadership approaches in their organizations, bringing those experiences back into the classroom for further discussion. This ongoing exchange strengthens learning and allows you to see how new ideas play out in real business environments.

Over time, this cycle of learning and application accelerates both professional growth and leadership development.

Build Perspective Through Your Peers

One of the most valuable aspects of the Evening & Weekend MBA experience is the peer network you develop.

Your classmates are accomplished professionals who bring real expertise and current industry insight into every conversation. Many students describe their cohort as a trusted group of advisors they continue to learn from long after graduation.

Through these relationships, you expand your professional network while gaining perspectives that help you navigate complex business decisions.
