Learning and Leading Collaboratively

Being known as a team player is more than a compliment, it is an essential element for success as a leader.

That's why team learning and leading begins with our Teams@Haas curriculum, introduced as part of the WE Launch orientation when you meet your initial collaborative partners: your study team and your cohort. Throughout your studies, you will be called on to lead—and to be a team player—on class assignments, in discussions, and on group projects.

You can also take a leadership role in your cohort, in student government, or for an extracurricular activity. And, of course, you can utilize your collaborative leadership skills in your job, from day one.

Berkeley Haas is not just about classroom learning, it’s about learning from my classmates. In medical school you study and test alone. At Haas, it's primarily group work so you learn how to be a more effective team member, which is just as important as being an effective team leader. I now have a better understanding of team dynamics and how to utilize each teammate’s capabilities to the fullest.
