Evening & Weekend MBA Association officers are elected to enrich the social, academic, and professional lives of their fellow students. The officers act as liaisons to the Haas administration, organize special events, and coordinate extracurricular activities.

- Haas@Work Yields Hands-on Experience for Students, Fresh Ideas for Executives
When Disney, Cisco, and SunPower were looking for innovative solutions, the companies turned to Berkeley MBA students. After weeks of background work, students partnered with each company at one-day, on-site workshops to develop recommendations addressing strategic challenges. Smaller teams were then dispatched to implement the recommendations selected by top executives.
- Berkeley MBAs Claim Third Victory in Top Branding Competition
Each year, eight MBA teams from top US business schools engage in plan-to-plan combat at the Elite Eight Brand Management Case Challenge, and each year—three years running—Berkeley MBA students win. Claiming the trophy this year for Haas were Evening & Weekend MBA Program student Jesse Watkins-Gibbs, and Full-time MBA Program students Jennifer Brown, Dai Deh, Morgan Eckles, and Vandita Lakhani.

When Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello commented on game pricing at >play, the Berkeley Digital Media Conference, industry bloggers took notice. In three short years, this student-run conference has established itself as a key event for sneaking a peek at the latest technology, delving into digital media's impact on everything from mobile communications to entertainment and politics.
- Inside Innovation Conference Showcases Faculty Research
Executives charged with harnessing innovation to grow business took part in a rich dialogue with scholars at Inside Innovation 2007. This first-ever Haas School conference highlighted Haas faculty research on the role of innovation in business. Panel sessions explored topics such as branding, online pricing, outsourcing, and creativity.
- Berkeley MBA Students Meet Warren Buffet
"Let's do lunch" took on new meaning for 100 Berkeley MBA students who dined with renowned investor and philanthropist Warren Buffet on a trip organized by the Haas Finance Club. Students from all three Berkeley MBA programs participated, engaging in a two-hour Q&A with Buffet, and joining him for lunch at the Field Club of Omaha.
- Green with Energy: BERC Energizes Annual Symposium
Members of BERC, the Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative, hosted its second BERC Energy Symposium in March. More than 400 people attended the symposium on global climate change and heard from keynote speakers John Doerr, a partner with venture firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Breyers, David Sandalow, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute, and Chris Somerville, director of the Energy Biosciences Institute.
- US Treasury Secretary Shares Insights with Haas Community
Students had a rare opportunity to engage in substantive Q&A with US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who spoke as part of the Dean's Speakers Series. Paulson shared general remarks on the economy and offered career insights for business school students.
- Annual Symposium Tackles Real Estate Challenges
The 25th annual Real Estate Economics Symposium, organized by the Haas School's Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, focused on how the economic, political, and social shifts have affected the economy and real estate market. Kenneth Rosen, co-chair of the Fisher Center, gave his annual economic and real estate forecast.
- Wall Street West: Inaugural Conference Affirms Haas Finance Leadership
The Haas Finance Club knows a thing or two about balancing risk and return. Its bold move to launch a new finance conference paid off well this year. Two keynote speakers addressed the theme of "Balancing Risk and Return through Innovation": George Lee, head of the technology banking group at Goldman Sachs, and Dr. Reuven Glick, vice president for the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco.
- Women in Leadership Conference Builds Connections, Inspiration
From Chez Panisse to Pottery Barn, the 12th annual Women in Leadership Conference drew inspirational executives from all walks of corporate life. Three keynote speakers addressed the theme of "Making Your Mark," including Williams-Sonoma president Laura Alber, Nintendo executive vice president of sales and marketing Cammie Dunaway, and chef, author, and Edible Schoolyard founder Alice Waters of Chez Panisse.
- Alumni Network Event Brings Together Past and Present
Current students and hundreds of alumni gathered for an evening of conversation at the Ninth Annual Haas Alumni Network Celebration in Silicon Valley held at the exclusive Menlo Circus Polo Club. A wide variety of businesses and industries were represented, with representatives from over 50 companies.

At the annual Asia Business Conference, keynote speakers Professor Laura Tyson, former chief economic advisor to President Clinton, and Steven Pratt, founder, CEO, and managing director of Infosys Consulting, explored how young business leaders can thrive amongst the changing dynamics of the Asian business environment.
