Over the course of his career, Karim Fahmy amassed substantial practical experience in disciplines ranging from engineering to marketing, sales, and operations. And he had worked around the world: Scotland, China, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, and Morocco. At Berkeley-Haas, he is "filling in the academic and theoretical holes" in his knowledge, and cultivating a valuable network in the Bay Area and beyond.

"The Berkeley-Haas MBA curriculum is quite rigorous. You don't just cruise to your degree here. You earn it."

"Learning about organizational behavior and development helped me coalesce my global team at work around our new vision. I especially appreciated the concept of setting 'big, hairy audacious goals.'"

"The core curriculum filled in what was missing in my knowledge base, particularly in quantitative subjects such as accounting and finance. Now that I am taking electives, I plan to continue to study those subjects, as well as entrepreneurship, another topic that fascinates me. It's all about exploration."

"You really feel that you are part of a community here at Berkeley-Haas, a community where everyone feels responsible for each other. The school also makes it easy to go 'Beyond Yourself' by helping others, too. It's easy to sign up for community service projects, which are a great way to get to know your classmates while doing good."
