GMAT,  GRE, and EA Test Scores

All candidates are required to take the GMAT, GRE, or EA* exam. These tests may be taken up to two weeks after the posted application deadline for the round in which you are applying. If you are unable to take the GMAT/GRE/EA during this time, please contact our office, as we process special requests for additional time on a case-by-case basis.

If you are planning to take the exam after you submit your application (either your first attempt or retaking an exam), please make sure you enter your future test date in your application, and email a copy of your unofficial score report to our office as soon as possible after the exam. All applications without an unofficial test score will be considered incomplete, and we cannot guarantee a decision by the posted notification deadline for incomplete applications.

*In addition to the GMAT or GRE, applicants with 6 or more years of work experience as of the start of the fall semester may take the Executive Assessment (EA) instead.

Remember that test scores are just one part of your application, and there is no minimum score required.

Applicants with a PhD in a quantitative field or an advanced medical degree, as listed below, may request an exemption waiver from submitting standardized test scores:

    • PhD
    • MD
    • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
    • DDS or DMD
    • DVM
    • PharmD

To request a waiver, applicants must start an application, upload all academic transcripts, and send an email request to ewmbaadm@haas.berkeley.edu. We will review your request, and the admissions committee will notify you within 5-7 days via email whether the request is approved.

For Fall 2024 admission, we only accept official scores from exams taken on or after October 1, 2018. These scores must also be verifiable with the testing agency. The testing agencies keep the scores for five years from the date the test was taken so you must submit your official scores to us directly from the testing agency prior to them expiring. Berkeley Haas keeps test score reports on file for two years only.

You may send us your exam results using the following institution codes:

    • GMAT Institution Code: N2V-PT-16
    • EA Institution Code: N2V-PT-16
    • GRE Institution Code: 7884

NOTE: It is the applicant's responsibility to notify us at ewmbaadm@haas.berkeley.edu of new test scores and/or future exam dates for consideration.

Applicants must make arrangements directly with Pearson Vue to sit for the GMAT or EA, or ETS for the GRE, or to send results of previous tests to Berkeley Haas.
