Costs & Financial Aid

Program Fees

Program fees for the 2017-2018 academic year are $3265 per unit. Currently, a minimum of 42 units is required for graduation. Program fees are subject to adjustment annually, and the number of required units may change. Visit our Financial Aid Office website for more information about the cost of attendance.

Financial Aid

A Berkeley MBA degree is an investment you make in yourself. We know that financing any major investment can be challenging, so we work to connect you with every opportunity for assistance, including scholarships, loans, and veterans benefits.

Scholarships

Berkeley Haas offers a variety of scholarships for entering students. Here’s a quick look at scholarships available to you in your first year:

  • Dean's Scholarships ($15,000 - $20,000)
    Awarded to students based on the overall strength of your admissions application and demonstrated leadership.
  • Diversity Scholarships ($10,000) - first year only
    Awarded to students who have a proven commitment to promoting diversity.
  • Non-Profit/Public Service Scholarships ($10,000) - one year award
    For students whose current employment is in the non-profit or public service sectors. This is a one year award which can be renewed in subsequent years.
  • Shapansky Grants (up to $10,000) - one year award
    Based on financial need. This is a one year award which can be renewed in subsequent years.
  • Outside of Bay Area Grants (up to $3,000) - first year only
    To mitigate expenses incurred by students commuting from outside the nine-county Bay Area.

All Haas scholarships in the Evening & Weekend Berkeley MBA Program are one-year awards. Find out more about scholarship criteria and access the scholarship application form from our financial aid page on scholarships for entering students.

We also offer scholarships for continuing students on an annual basis.

In addition to Berkeley Haas scholarships, the Haas Financial Aid Office also maintains a list of outside scholarships available to most MBA students.

Loan Options

Loans are always a second option after pursuing scholarship opportunities. The main loan options available to Evening & Weekend Berkeley MBA students are:

  • Federal Loans
  • Private Loans
  • International Student Loans

Veterans Benefits

As part of the public University of California system, Berkeley Haas has one of the few top-ranked MBA programs in the country that is able to benefit from the expanded Post 9/11 Benefits.

Depending on qualifying length of service, veterans can obtain funding for up to 100% of fees, a monthly housing allowance, and an annual book stipend of up to $1,000.

Also, veterans may be eligible to waive the $200 application fee to the Evening & Weekend Berkeley MBA Program. Submit your application but do not yet pay your application fee. Instead, please complete ourĀ Military Application Fee Waiver Request form. The admissions office will process your request and get back to you within 2 business days with eligibility confirmation and next steps.
