Nonprofit and Public Leadership

Ranked #3 among business schools with a nonprofit specialty (US News and World Review 2009), the Center for Nonprofit and Public Leadership prepares leaders with the practical business skills to found, lead, manage and govern nonprofit and public organizations for the public good.

The Center offers courses taught by a distinguished faculty of practitioners, researchers and established leaders in the field. Topics include:

  • Governance
  • Organizational strategy
  • Financial management
  • Fundraising and marketing
  • Cross-cultural philanthropy
  • Cross-sector collaboration

 

The Center also offers students hands-on field work opportunities that connect students with hundreds of nonprofit leaders and organizations. Experiential programs include:

  • Social Sector Solutions or S3 deploys consultant teams of students with coaches from McKinsey & Company to work with select nonprofit organizations on high-impact, entrepreneurial ventures.
  • The center hosts the Schwab Charitable Philanthropy Speakers, bringing together Haas students, alumni, and philanthropic leaders to tackle cutting-edge social impact issues and best practices.
